The train is the best way to go. If you are going to be in Switzerland for a while, sometimes it is a better deal to buy a Swiss pass, or you can buy a Euro-rail pass for the countries you are visiting. We took the Golden Rail from Interlaken to Montreaux, then a train into Chamonix France and through Mont Blanc into Northwestern Itay. It was an amazing ride, and not exactly in the direction you want to go, but the countryside is so beautiful.

Take the Train for one simple reason: you will see the beautiful countryside.

Train is always the way to go in europe. It's a little over 3 hours train ride from Interlaken to Milan, and a little less than 3 hours from Milan to Venice. So, i would take train to Milan, put laggage in locker, and spend a few hours to explore Milan's Cathedral (well worth the visit), and dine in a restaurants (much nicer and more choices than restaurants in Venice), before continue heading down to Venice.

the biggest international airport that close to Interlaken is Zurich.

pay a visit to Jungfraujoch while you are at Interlaken. :)
